The Long-Eared Owl is the only native owl to the Taiga. Its length can vary anywhere from 13-15 inches. Its weight can vary anywhere from 8-10 ounces. To live in the Taiga the owl has made a lot of adapatations one being its coat. The owl has made its coat look like bark making the owl almost invisable to predators. Its sharp claws are perfect for grabing and holding on to its dinner. The eyes of this particular owl are just amazing. The owl can see a field mouse from more than 200 yards away. The ears of this owl can literally hear a butterflies wings flutter. The owls duration on Earth is 12-15 years.
