Grizzly Bear Genus: Ursus Species: Arctos Horribilis
Grizzly Bears are usually found in the northwestern part of North America. Their habitats can include forests, valleys or mountains. The Grizzly Bear has great strength and is fast over short distances. They are very aggresive and do not have trouble scaring away prey. The Grizzly Bear has a stout body, big head and short tail. They can way as much as 704 pounds and grow over 8 feet tall. From the ground to their shoulders they are about 3-3 1/2 feet tall. When winter comes around they occasionaly leave their den because the do not completly hibernate. Most Grizzly Bears live until the age of 25.
